We are a community orchestra of about 45 amateur musicians. We rehearse every Monday evening from September to May and give four to eight concerts each season. One of our goals is to perform for people who might not otherwise hear a live orchestral performance. The concerts we give at local hospitals and seniors’ residences support this goal. Another goal is to feature local soloists by performing with them at our May or June concert. We fund a Kiwanis Music Festival scholarship for this. Over the years, we’ve invited quite a number of emerging musicians as our soloists for this concert.

Each of our performances includes classical and popular music. The music covers a wide range: we play symphonies, operettas, waltzes, traditional and modern Christmas selections, and music from shows. Here’s our brochure.

Looking for volunteer ballroom dancers of any level to join the Edmonton Philharmonic Orchestra for a concert

The Edmonton Philharmonic Orchestra is a volunteer orchestra and we are having a concert specifically for people living with dementia (Alzheimers and other types) and their families. We are hoping to provide a fun and friendly evening of live music.
