Natya Thilakam, Sri. Naren Ganesan, Founder and Artistic Director of Sanskriti Foundation, is one of the most sought after male Bharatanatyam exponents across North America. He has indeed carved an artistic niche to building capacity, creating space for artistic inclusion and providing the highest quality of dance intensive training opportunities in South-Asian Classical dance genre of Bharatanatyam across Alberta (Since 2015). He certainly has a special place amongst presenters of dance, community members, students, fellow artists and funding agencies as one of the finest skilled artiste. We are indeed proud to share that Naren would represent Alberta for the second consecutive year to be invited to be featured by some of the premier dance festivals in major cities across Canada.
Naren is a senior disciple of veteran dance teachers / iconic choreographers and above all such selfless human being, Padmabhushan Kalaimamani Guru. Smt. Ranganayaki Jayaraman (Vazhuvoor Bani) and Kalaimamani Acharya Choodamani Guru. Smt. Jayanthi Subramaniam (Kalakshetra Bani). With over 20 years of professional development, and a decade of performances spanning across India, UK and now Canada - Naren envisages for Sanskriti to be the finest institution to foster artistic excellence in form, technique, agility, and passion for learning Indian Classical Fine Arts across North America. He is known for a systematic approach to teaching, practical and engaging yet rigorous training (weekly), customized programming to adapt to every individual's needs under training of the well codified system of learning Bharatnatyam nuisance, objective review process on the overall growth of the dan·seuse and above all a true mentor to creating a wave of positivity amongst the artistic bandwidth across all age groups. All Sanskriti families, students, patrons, wellwishers, board members, and everyone associated with Sanskriti take the utmost pride in nurturing such a platform to Celebrate Culture & Tradition. Naren's vision for Sanskriti Foundation, in the coming years, to be a landmark for the next generation of arts professionals to foster and create memories for a lifetime to GROW, DANCE and THRIVE as a community together.
Sanskriti Foundation (2015-20), a brainchild of Naren passion for classical arts has over time turned into a creative space for all art connoisseurs, community members and families/students. Naren has been felicitated with national and international recognition for his work ethics, artistic prowess and creative/artistic le produced. We wish to take a moment to acknowledge the continued support and encouragement of audience members, Sanskriti members, community partners, dance service organizations, dancers/peers and presenters. Naren's endeavour would be to build adequate supports and programming to bridge the gap of South-Asian performing arts and actively create awareness about the art form (Bharathanatyam) that has lived through several generations. Naren Sanskriti Dance continues to present some of Alberta’s finest artwork in terms of artistic content, complexity, technique and audience appeal. Naren continues to enthral his audience with innovative dance scopes that expand the boundaries of classical arts. A true testimony to his artistic creation, Naren was awarded the prestigious Cultural Diversity grant award to create a mythical masterpiece based on the legacy of 1000 years old temple from his Childhood town, Sarathy. From traditional dance presentation (Margam), thematic dance entourage to innovative breathtaking group production, Naren has been a forerunner expanding the boundaries of classical arts exposure. Spring 2019, Brian Webb Dance Company (BWD40), featured Naren in their season premier Next Generation SA Dance (ALBERTA).
Naren apart from being a well established dancer / soloist, active community member, choreographer, teacher, art historian, key spokesperson for south-Asian dance in Alberta, his passion and continued drive for artistic excellence, led him to take curate the first ever season of 3 consecutive years by Sanskriti Dance Theatre, a North America wide Conference for Indian Classical Fine Arts - GNANASHALA (2015-2018). Gnanashala became the artistic totem pole for performing artists across the globe and created an opportunity to bring art and artists together to learn with some of the world class exponents of the field. Following this credit as a curator for art-conferences, naren is now the youngest member to join the elite provincial partners led by Sampradaya Dance Creations / Lata Pada on the MOMENTUM'19 funded by the Canada Council of Arts (2019-20).
