Job Description:

dancED Movement Project is a dance education company that delivers school-based artist-in-residence programs to students in Kindergarten to Grade 9 in Edmonton and surrounding areas. The purpose of dancED is to inspire joy, connection and community in a school environment and to provide every child, regardless of experience or ability, with the opportunity to unleash their creative potential.

We are looking to hire 1-2 qualified dance instructors for the fall, with training commencing in the coming months and contracts beginning in October. The ideal candidates should have professional dance training, performance experience, experience teaching dance, and a strong interest in working with young learners from ages 5-16. Teaching contracts range from 1-4 weeks in length and take place on weekdays during school hours from approximately 8:30am-3:30pm.

Requirements:

-Daytime availability
-High calibre dance training in various styles
-Experience working with children
-Ability to learn new choreography quickly
-Excellent communication skills
-Highly energetic, strong work ethic, and excellent organizational skills
-Must be flexible, adaptable and able to work collaboratively as contracts are always carried out by two instructors in a team-teaching format

Compensation:

-Pay starts at $28/hour with the opportunity to increase after the probationary period.
