Yvonne Rainer’s Continuous Project: Sixty Years, a dance performance to take place at Remai Modern in Saskatoon

Remai Modern

Remai Modern is pleased to present Yvonne Rainer’s Continuous Project: Sixty Years, a dance performance at Remai Modern. Over the last sixty years, Yvonne Rainer has made a significant impact as a dancer, choreographer, filmmaker and writer.

Rainer is a co-founder of the Judson Dance Theatre, a New York City-based collective of dancers and artists who challenged modern dance, probing the boundaries of the art form and charting new directions in dance, visual art and music.

Following a fifteen-year career as a choreographer/dancer, Rainer transitioned to filmmaking where she made seven experimental feature-length films. She returned to dance in 2000 and continues to create surprising and provocative new works. Her dances and films have been seen throughout the U.S. and Europe. Her performance at Remai Modern, in collaboration with her frequent collaborators, informally known as the Raindears, marks her first performance in the province.

There will be two performances: Saturday, October 5 at 7 PM and Sunday, October 6 at 2 PM. The Sunday matinee will have a conversation with Yvonne Rainer following the performance. Tickets are $25 for Remai Modern members, $37 for non-members.

This is a rare opportunity to experience an iconic figure of contemporary dance. Get your ticket today.
