DESCRIPTION:Parshwanath Upadhye will lead a 5 day Bharatanatyam Master class for all students in the Edmonton and area region. The purpose of the workshop is to provide the opportunity for students to learn from a professional artist from India. This is a unique opportunity that will allow all students who participate to grow and develop new skills.  \nParshwanath Upadhye is an Indian classical dancer.[1] renowned for his striking combination of Tandava the male energy with gentle Lasya or the graceful movements performed without compromising the ancient Indian aesthetic values.[2]

The purpose of the workshop is to provide the opportunity for students to learn from a professional artist from India. This is a unique opportunity that will allow all students who participate to grow and develop new skills.  \nOne of India’s leading Kathak artists of her generation\, Sanjukta Sinha is known for her technical expertise and immense artistry. A solo dancer of distinction\, she has also performed in ensembles as well as collaborated with several leading international names across various dance forms\, keen to create contemporary expressions of dance based on Kathak.
