The following public art competitions are held in accordance with the City of Edmonton policy “Percent for Art to Provide and Encourage Art in Public Areas” (C458C).
Submission Deadline: Monday, March 9, 2020 (this applies to each of the following calls).
RFQ Valley Line West – Elevated Guideway Ramps
The 87 Avenue Guideway Ramps at 164 Street and Aldergrove Park public art competition, open to professional artists and artist teams/collectives who reside in the Edmonton Metropolitan Area.
Budget: There are two artwork commissions available: $15,000 for the 164 Street Ramp, and $15,000 for the Aldergrove Park Ramp. The commissions are only for the concrete facade design.
RFQ Valley Line West – Misericordia Station
The Valley Line West – Misericordia Station public art competition, open to local and national professional artists and artist teams/collectives who reside in Canada. Artists with a connection to this area of Edmonton are encouraged to apply. Based upon a portfolio review and interview, the successful artist(s) will be commissioned to create a proposal.
Budget: This is a two-part contract totalling maximum $325,000 all inclusive.
