PROJECT 686km Artistic Exchange: Calgary – Vancouver is a research residency that holds space for emerging dance artists of colour from Vancouver and Calgary to dialogue, collaborate and create. In doing so, it helps strengthen and create lasting connections between participating artists and diverse communities in both cities. The exchange aims to increase opportunities and professional development for emerging dance artists of colour to create contemporary works with mentoring support that helps more fully realize their artistic visions, further shoring up Western Canada as a significant place of artistic incubation for BIPOC and emerging dance makers.
