SUMMARY:Untitled (clock piece) by Susannah Haight & Tia Kushniruk
DESCRIPTION:About Untitled (clock piece) \n\n\n\n\nA clock built from stones. A body moves so slowly it begins to disappear. A broken factory light stutters\, fragmenting the space. A low bass vibrates through the ground\, through flesh and bone. \n\n\n\n\nIn this performance\, temporal systems used to organize labour\, regulate bodies\, and enforce linear progress are dismantled. That structure begins to come undone. Time is no longer something to follow or produce within\, but something that lingers\, accumulates\, and resists containment. \n\n\n\n\nOver 12 hours\, six dancers cycle through the structured space\, carrying time between them as it slips beyond systems that seek to regulate and contain it.

SUMMARY:Flamenco … at the Yardbird … at the DJD Dance Centre
DESCRIPTION:A collaboration between Flamenco dancers – Claire Marchand\, Jane Ogilvie and Rosanna Terracciano \n“WOW…simply\, utterly. Such a rich and diverse production of flamenco components. We were enthralled. ” \nFollowing a sold-out 2025 tour\, this vibrant Flamenco ensemble takes to the stage with returning special guests – Spanish Flamenco singer and percussionist Francisco Orozco “Yiyi” and Vancouver Flamenco guitarist Peter Mole – for an intimate\, dynamic evening of live flamenco dance\, guitar\, piano\, rhythm and song. \nFlamenco dancers Claire Marchand (Winnipeg/Vancouver)\, Jane Ogilvie (Edmonton/Calgary) and Rosanna Terracciano (Calgary) have explored their own creative trajectories since meeting years ago as emerging dancers. Now\, as established artists\, each has played an integral role in establishing a Flamenco presence in Western Canada. Their paths have crossed as artists\, colleagues\, and friends in many ways over the years. In 2023 they decided it was time to formally create a project where they would have the chance to collaborate. \nTheir first project “Flamenco at the Yardbird” was presented to a sold out Edmonton audience in 2024 with invited guests; Vancouver Flamenco guitarist Peter Mole\, and Spanish Flamenco singer Celedonio Garrido. In 2025 they returned to the Yardbird for two nights\, with a new program including returning guitarist Peter Mole and new guest Spanish Flamenco singer/percussionist Francisco Orozco “Yiyi” – taking the show on the road to their hometowns of Calgary\, Edmonton\, and Winnipeg\, to rave reviews. \nThe 2026 tour brings an all new program of music and dance to Calgary\, Edmonton\, and Winnipeg. \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nFrancisco Orozco “Yiyi” (Song/Percussion) is from an Andalusian family. Born in Barcelona\, he was introduced to Flamenco rhythms at the tender age of four and was trained by his father\, Flamenco singer “Joselón de Jerez”. He began his professional career at the age of twelve and performs internationally. \nClaire Marchand (Dance)\, known for her theatrical\, singular style\, has performed across Canada and internationally. \nPeter Mole’s (Guitar) raw yet lyrical guitar style comes alive when accompanying dance. He recently released his debut album “La Luna y el Viento.” \nJane Ogilvie (Dance\, Piano) is a 2023 recipient of the Edmonton Artist’s Trust Fund Award for dance and a lifelong pianist. \nRosanna Terracciano (Dance)\, winner of the Jacqueline Lemieux Prize\, has been presented throughout Canada and Europe\, including at the Bienal de Flamenco (Seville).

SUMMARY:Fall(se) Cirque(us) by Isak Enquist
DESCRIPTION:Fall(se) Circ(us) explores the notion of rebellion against everyday complacency through shifting cycles of “work” and “rest\,” inviting improvised movement as a form of resistance. Choreographed by Little Room Productions Co-Director Isak Enquist\, the work draws on an expansive movement language rooted in martial arts\, snowboarding\, and experimental floor work\, embodied by an ensemble of seven performing artists. \nAt its core\, Fall(se) Circ(us) seeks to subvert expectations\, transforming a traditional performance space into a shared celebration with audience members. It begins as a contemporary display of physical excellence—movement that seems to defy gravity and physics\, often likened to “circus.” As the work unfolds\, this intense physicality gradually dissolves to reveal a performer’s humanity—the circus falls into movement that becomes relaxed\, learnable\, and participatory in real time. A simple hand gesture\, a step repeated throughout the show becomes an invitation for the audience to join the joyful rebellion on stage.
