SUMMARY:EAC: The Edmonton Artists’ Trust Fund (EATF)
DESCRIPTION:Deadline: September 1\, 2020\n \nWhen this date falls on a weekend or holiday\, the deadline moves to the next business day. \nThe EATF was established in 1997 by John and Barbara Poole\, Edmonton Community Foundation (through a transfer of funds from the ECF’s Community Fund) and the Clifford E. Lee Foundation\, and was intended to invest in Edmonton’s creative community. The award recognizes an artist’s work and contribution to the community as well as providing financial stability to renew\, develop\, create or experiment. Over the past 22 years the EATF has invested in more than 100 multimedia\, literary\, music\, dance\, film\, theatre and visual artists; and contributed more than $800\,000 to the arts economy. \nFor the 2020 deadline\, ten $15\,000 awards are available (thanks to the Foote Foundation established by Eldon and Anne Foote for additional funding support in 2019). \nThe EATF Award is open to any artist who is 18 years or older; a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident; and a resident of the greater Edmonton region for at least one year prior to the deadline. This region includes the City of Edmonton and the Counties of Sturgeon\, Parkland\, Leduc and Strathcona\, and the Indigenous communities adjacent. \n\n\n\n\nPurpose\nThe Edmonton Artists’ Trust Fund (EATF) is a joint project of the Edmonton Arts Council and the Edmonton Community Foundation. The EATF is designed to invest in Edmonton’s creative community and to encourage artists to stay in our community. The funds are intended to offset living and working expenses\, allowing the artist to devote a concentrated period of time to his/her artistic activities\, career enhancement and/or development. \nThe Edmonton Arts Council is the administrator of the award process which includes inviting Edmonton area residents to apply\, appointing peer assessment committee to adjudicate all applicants\, and presenting the peer assessment committee’s recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Edmonton Arts Council for approval.\n\n\nFunds are intended to support:\nArtists at all stages of their professional careers\, in all fields and any artistic tradition\, who demonstrate excellence in their field and commitment to working in and contributing to the Edmonton region’s arts community.Funds are not intended to support:\nArtists who primarily work outside the Edmonton region. \n  \nDOWNLOAD THE GUIDELINES and APPLY

SUMMARY:Calgary Arts Development: Resiliency Fund
DESCRIPTION:Program Overview\nThis fund will provide up to $50\,000 to support initiatives which contribute to the resiliency of the arts sector through adapted approaches to their business and artistic practices. This could include partnerships or mergers\, or new platforms for content delivery or community engagement all with the hopes of ensuring long term sustainability. This fund will invest in those organizations that are pivoting to reflect the new realities facing the sector. The Resiliency Fund is intended to invest in strategies supported by strong operational capacity and governance. \nThis program will be administered through two intakes\, with a pool of $575\,000 each. If the funds from the first intake are not fully expended\, they will be rolled over into the second round. \nThe total funding available for this program is $1\,150\,000. \n  \nAPPLY STARTING AUGUST 10th

SUMMARY:EAC: Arts Grants for Individuals and Collectives
DESCRIPTION:Individual artists and their work are the foundation of our arts community. Working alone or as part of a collective\, they pursue work that develops their practice\, advances creative thought\, contributes to an art form and provides our community with a reflection of itself. \nArts Grants for Individuals and Collectives 2020 has three distinct streams\, each with its own evaluation criteria and assessment process. Artists may only submit to one stream\, and eligibility to apply to certain streams will be limited if the artist has been previously supported by the EAC in 2020. \n\nStream 1: Exploration and Experimentation: This stream will support the time needed by an artist to work on current creation or research activities. ($5\,000)\nStream 2: Skills and Career Development: This stream will support professional development and mentorship-based projects for artists and arts professionals. (Up to $10\,000)\nStream 3: Major Artist-driven Projects: This stream may include production/presentation that is clearly considered in light of public health restrictions. DESCRIPTION:Alberta’s non-profit and community organizations can now apply to the Sept. 15 intake of the Community Initiatives Program Project-Based grant stream\, which aims to foster healthy and vibrant communities across Alberta. Funding will focus on events\, festivals\, programs and projects delivered in innovative and creative ways that align with public health measures. \n\n“Our non-profit and community organizations deliver programs and services that enhance the quality of life of Albertans. At the height of the pandemic\, we focused grant funding on front-line organizations providing critical services to Albertans\, but now we can focus again on projects that improve and enrich our communities.
