DESCRIPTION:Are you looking to engage with the Toronto dance community next summer?\nJoin our Festival team as a Dance Steward!\nThe dance: made in/fait au canada Festival is looking for emerging artists who are interested in advocating and networking with our National dance community. Get the chance to see the latest in Canada’s contemporary dance. \nWHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU:\n\nWorkshops with professionals\nNetworking orientation\nConnection into the professional world\nBuilding relationships with professional dance artists\nHonorarium\nAccess to the Festival programming\nA look into the professional creative process\n\nAUGUST 11th – 15th\, 2021 \nA Summer Festival of Contemporary Dance \nArtists from Vancouver\, Calgary\, Toronto\, Montreal\, Halifax \nDANCE STEWARDS ARE:\nInterested in engaging with the dance community from across Canada. \nWilling and able to be representatives of the dance: made in canada Festival\, specifically engaging with our audiences during the week of the Festival. \nInterested in meeting our Festival artists and team\, being exposed to the inner workings of a national-wide Festival. \nEXPECTATIONS:\nYou must be available for: \nTwo (2) orientation sessions – 5 Hours total \nOne (1) post-mortem session\, following the festival – 2 Hours total \nYou should be available for at least twelve (12) hours during the week of the Festival – this includes shadowing tech rehearsals\, connecting with Festival artists for one-on-one chats\, attending our Festival programming\, attending Festival workshops free of charge\, and acting as a representative in the lobby of the Festival venue. \nHOW TO APPLY:\nFill out your application HERE \nYou will be asked to provide a short bio and a letter of interest\, stating why you would be right for this role. SUMMARY:Call for Participants: Community-based workshop (MZD)
DESCRIPTION:Call for Participants\, deadline January 15 \nMultidisciplinary artist\, facilitator\, teacher\, arts producer and community organizer Kevin Jesuino is seeking LGBT & BIPOC community members and emerging artists to participate in an upcoming community-based workshop and participation-based performance\, Cruising at 30 Kilometers a Second and Attempting Not To Crash. \nJust like in nature\, there is no right or wrong for this project and all individuals and bodies (18+) are encouraged to sign up to participate! \nThe goal of this experimental work is to explore  how queer bodies relate to nature\, create a safe space for discussion\, and loose to interpret and create! \nThis is a workshop based project that requires two types of participants: \n\nPre-recorded participants will receive a score (a series of prompts) that participants  will interpret in a public green space. All scores/prompts are different. Participants must have a smartphone with video capturing capability. All scores are filmed outside and no longer than 30  minutes. Videos will be submitted via wetransfer.com.\nLive performance participants will receive a score (a series of prompts) that they will interpret live on Feb 12 – 7pm or Feb 13 – 2pm. Participants must have a laptop or smartphone. You may be asked to film inside or in your backyard at times. For no longer than 60 minutes.\n\nAll participants will receive: \n\nAn invitation to a virtual collaboration dinner with various multidisciplinary artists;\nCredit for participation in the show and for any future use of its content; and\n$50 in compensation for their participation and 30 minute performance.\n\nRequirements: \n\n18+\nAvailable to attend:\n\nA virtual collaboration dinner on January 23 at 7PM MST; and\nThe live performance(s) on February 12 – 7PM and/or  February 13 – 2 PM.\n\n\nAccess to a smartphone to record or ‘witness’ to your experience.\nPerformance experience is not required.\n\nAll expressions of interest to participate can be submitted online. \nFor more information about the project\, visit www.kevinjesuino.com/participate.
