DESCRIPTION:Due to Covid-19\, we are going about the audition process a little differently this year. Please send an email to harbourdanceitp@gmail.com with the subject line: Audition. Once we have received your request\, you will be invited to the 2 private audition videos. You will have 48 hours from the time sent to learn the technical exercises and choreography\, record and submit to harbourdanceitp@gmail.com. Please make sure you have a suitable place to record yourself before sending in a video audition request. Included in your video should be some genres of your choice to show us how you like to move. Don’t be shy! Send us some hip hop\, contemporary\, musical theatre\, ballet…anything to show us who you are and why you are suitable for ITP. \n  \nAudition Submission Check List \n\nBallet exercises\nContemporary Jazz choreography\nYour style of choice\, we encourage variety (1 min time limit per video)\nA current picture or headshot\nApplication\nResume\n\n  \nVideos should be shot horizontally and be in a downloadable file under 500mb each. \n  \nDeadline: June 1st\, 2021

DESCRIPTION:Date – May 30th 2021. Doors open at 6:30 pm. The audition starts at 7 pm.  \n \n#115\, 3953 112 Ave SE Calgary\, AB \nJunior Tryzub is looking for enthusiastic and experienced dancers. Interested dancers must be at least 12 years of age. Interested dancers are encouraged to contact the school at liason@tryzub.ca \nJunior Tryzub provides the opportunity for dancers 12 to 18 to increase their level of technical ability and develop the skills and passion that are Tryzub. They are the highest level of the Tryzub School of Ukrainian Dance. Junior Tryzub performs at various events to increase their exposure in the Calgary community. \nThey rehearse for two-and-a-half hours\, twice weekly\, focusing on technique and building a dance repertoire\, as a means for a seamless transition into the Ensemble. \nIf you are interested in joining Junior Tryzub please contact Tryzub to arrange a one-to-one audition. Our studio will be complying with precautions and guidelines set out by our provincial government and health services.

Interested dancers must be at least 18 years of age\, or 16 with parental consent. Involvement with the Ensemble consists of eight hours of rehearsals per week\, in addition to performances\, festivals\, and fundraising commitments. \nAs Ukrainian-Canadians\, dance enables us to participate in our cherished heritage and culture. Most of the dancers do not have formal dance training\, yet we volunteer our time to express our pride\, preserve the future of our culture\, and make friends for life. Our determination and dedication shapes our character in ways which otherwise would go unexplored. \nEven though all Ensemble rehearsals are closed\, interested dancers are encouraged to contact the Ensemble Liaison at ensemblerep@tryzub.ca to make arrangements to attend a rehearsal or schedule an individual audition. DESCRIPTION:In the spirit of jazz\, we dance. \nThe mission of DJD is to enrich lives by engaging people in exploring\, evolving\, and promoting the art of jazz dance. Jazz is a contemporary dance form with a rich history and many cousins. We dance to jazz music; with bent knees and movement in our torsos\, we embrace improvisation\, rhythmic sophistication\, and individuality. Our home\, the DJD Dance Centre\, is becoming a global destination for aspiring jazz dance artists and is quickly becoming the dance hub of Calgary. With emphasis placed on individual growth and development\, dancers receive consistent feedback and guidance that encourages excellence and dedication to the form. Study is based in Jazz\, Tap\, Jazz Improvisation\, Modern\, West African\, Traditional Afro-Cuban Forms\, Swing\, Latin\, Ballet\, Core Strength\, Jump Rhythm Jazz Style\, DJD Repertoire\, Jazz History and Jazz Music Appreciation. All of this is accomplished under the skillful direction of our school and ensemble artistic director and State Honored Artist of Ukraine Zhenia Bahri and our assistant instructors.
