Dance Score by Gerry Morita, Katrina Smy & Jeannie Vandekerkhove
Electroacoustic Sound Score by Shawn Pinchbeck
Lighting Design by Guido Tondino & Victoria Zimski
This piece, inspired by the cryptic drawing style of Edward Gorey, is the first phase in new work, Knowledge Box, which will be presented in spring 2010 as part of Mile Zero Dance’s 25th Anniversary season.
By the use of computer interface, Pinchbeck weaves his sound composition through the performance area, so that the dancers’ real-time relationship to the sound becomes part of the overall score.

Nick & Juanita - Livin in my dreams dances with the effects of love on two characters: Juanita, a woman who is trying to reconcile her fugitive brain and her adorably naïve heart, and Nick, a man seemingly lacking in both. Effortlessly leaping from one character to the next, Nick & Juanita demonstrates what Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg does best: social satire strongly rooted in character-driven work. Nick & Juanita will leave audiences grinning, and perhaps a little reminiscent of their own forays as human beings searching for love, affection and understanding.
Nick & Juanita, aclassic comic tragedy in a highly entertaining dance/theatre journey of the heart. You won't know whether you should laugh or cry at these two hapless personalities.
