Resource Centre/Services/Support
- Supports professional development through consultation in grant research, preparation and editing, administration/production management, and career preparation
- Offers Stepping Out – a program for career planning in public schools/studios for dance students Supports access to the Basic Dance Agreement from Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists (CADA) and contract service information
- Provides SOCAN networking
- Presents, in partnership with the Dancer Transition Resource Centre, on the MOVE, a conference for graduating dance students & emerging dance professionals
- Hosts 100 Feet: Diaries of Dance in Alberta, a historical look at Alberta’s rich dance past Houses a library of dance related resources
- Provides administrative support including shared-cost mailouts and meeting rooms available upon request
Advocacy
- Provides a direct link with other provincial service organizations for dance
- Advocates for dance in education and is an active voice for dance in the Albertan and Canadian cultural and human resource sectors
- Works with other municipal, provincial and federal arts/dance service organizations for increased support to arts/dance in the public and private sector
Awareness
- Provides financial aid through the Community Workshop Grant
- Produces the feats – Festival of Dance, a celebration of the Alberta Dance community
- Complies Dancelines, a bi-weekly community e-newsletter that includes information about upcoming events, grant deadlines, employment opportunities and more
- Fosters an awareness of dance in Alberta through the International Dance Day provincial promotional campaign held on April 29
- Produces the Dance Link Calendar with performances, events, and grant deadlines
- Recognizes marks of excellence in all forms of dance through the Alberta Dance Awards given out each year at the feats – Festival of Dance
