The Brandon School of Dance is seeking a head teacher for September 2013. Strong skills in ballet are required with the ability to teach lyrical, modern and jazz. Other teachable styles are an asset. This is a suitable position for an experienced teacher looking to relocate to a smaller city or for a young, energetic individual just starting out. Initially we offer 20 – 25 hours of teaching per week with the potential to increase as enrolment grows. Ownership opportunities are a possibility for the right person. The Brandon School of Dance in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada was established in 1973 and has over 250 students enrolled. We have just moved into a modern new 7000 square foot facility with four teaching studios and our enrolment is growing. Ballet Teacher Required for Music and Play in Calgary Must love children. Must love teaching. Must love dance. Music and Play is expanding and looking for a teacher for our new ballet classes starting fall 2013. If you are an exceptional teacher, love children and able to instruct a range of ages and levels including teens and adults we want to talk to you. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of various ballet techniques (Vaganova, Cecchetti, etc.) and have a passion for the art and performance of dance. All classes have live accompaniment so experience working with an accompanist is a definite asset. The ADS seeks qualified, syllabus based jazz and tap instructors with previous teaching experience and a strong ballet background. About the Programs The Creative Jazz Ballet program focuses on conceptual dance education, where new dance concepts will be explored monthly. Creative dance, imagination and expression are combined with developmentally appropriate movement, music, and ballet and jazz technique to create a class that is fun for all! The Fit Hop Kidz program focuses on learning hip hop dance moves to the latest kid friendly music. While movin' and groovin' to the urban beats kidz will explore dance concepts, gain coordination, and increase strength and flexibility. Each class includes fun fitness conditioning through obstacle courses, dance and rhythm games. Instructor Qualifications Instructors must be outgoing, reliable and committed to providing high quality dance education for children. Instructors must have a minimum of 2 years experience working with children in a dance related setting. Creative Jazz Ballet instructors must have a strong background in jazz and ballet technique and experience in creative dance. Fit Hop Kidz instructors must have experience in hip hop dance and fitness activities. Rate of pay $25-$45/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
