Teacher must be able to plan & apply instructional dance classes and prepare choreography for productions in December and May.

The Ideal Candidate would possess:

Certification in RAD and/or ADAPT preferred

2+ years’ experience teaching and choreographing

Passion for teaching children

Experience in teaching children of a variety of ages and dance levels

High level of professionalism

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work as part of a teaching team

Experience in preparing dancers for RAD and/or ADAPT exams

Wage - $24.00 - $40.00 per hour based on experience and training/education

Hours – 10 – 25 hours/week - negotiable

  Pirouette School of Dance - Jazz and Tap Instructor

25 Years Still Dancing! Pirouette School of Dance is seeking a qualified and accredited dance teacher-choreographer in Jazz and/or Tap disciplines for the 2015-2016 dance season. 


Reporting to a Board of Directors, the Successful Candidate will possess:

~ADAPT certification but CDTA or ISTD will also be considered.

~Experience teaching dancers of all ages. 

~Minimum 1 year experience teaching and choreographing.

~Excellent communication skills, be professional, and able to work alone or as a team.


The Successful Candidate will also be required to prepare dancers for Jazz and Tap exams.


Wage:  Starting at $22 hr. dependent on experience and training

Hours: 10-20hrs/week in studio. 


PSOD offers paid continuing education opportunities and expense coverage for CE training and attending competitions.

 Visiting Guest Artist/Sessional Instructor in Contemporary Dance

The School of Creative and Performing Arts, Division of Dance invites applications for a Visiting Guest Artist/Sessional Instructor in Contemporary Dance for Winter Term 2016.  The anticipated start date is January 1, 2016.

We are seeking a dance artist who will provide our students with a strong base in current Contemporary dance techniques, and who will also contribute significantly to the students’ national and international perspective on Contemporary dance.  The Visiting Guest Artist will be responsible for teaching all levels of Contemporary dance technique to dance majors, minors and non-majors; teaching choreography to 2nd year dance majors; and creating a new work or setting repertory on advanced dance majors.  The candidate will also be expected to provide service to the Dance Division i.e. mentoring and advising dance students.

The successful artist will be expected to have an MFA in Dance, or equivalent professional experience, national and/or international reputation as a dance artist with significant experience teaching Contemporary dance at university and/or professional levels, an international perspective on contemporary trends in dance as developed through dance practice, professional experience in the areas of contemporary dance techniques from a release training perspective, contact improvisation, choreography, and performance creation. Knowledge of release based or Limon based work is an asset.

This position requires a fourteen week commitment from one guest artist: January 11 - April 13, 2016 OR a 7 week commitment each from 2 guest artists: January 11 - Feb 28, 2016 and February 27 - April 16, 2016.

 RAD Ballet Instructor                           

 St. Albert, AB 08/20/15 

  St. Albert Ballet Academy is a well-established ballet school is seeking a highly qualified RAD Ballet Instructor for the 2015-16 season onward. The Ballet Instructor will be responsible for teaching syllabus work to dancers ages three and up, RAD examinations graded and vocational and choreography for one recital per year with the possibility of more choreography for local events. The position is for approx. 30 hours per week for a ten month season from mid-September to mid-June. The successful candidate will have RAD registered teachers status and preferably have a dance degree from a well-respected teacher training program. Some teaching experience would be preferable but will consider a new teacher with the right qualifications. An ability to teach from pre-school to Advanced 2 is a necessity.
