Pirouette School of Dance requires a Royal Academy of Dance Ballet instructor to teach all levels from Pre-Primary to Vocational syllabus, for the 2016/17 dance season. The successful candidate must be competent in the new graded syllabus and eligible to enter students for examinations. We offer classes, in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, and more, to over 270 students from ages 18 months to adult. The R.A.D instructor will be responsible for preparing and submitting the students for exams, preferably for February/March of 2017. The instructor must also have experience in choreography to prepare Ballet Teams for competition and all Ballet classes for our year-end recital. This position is 30 hours a week and offers a monthly salary of $5000. An hourly rate of $40 for possible private lessons, solos or duets will be in addition to the monthly salary. This position is a ten month season, from mid-August to mid-June, with the possibility of an extension through summer for Ballet Intensives. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be professional, and able to work well within a team setting under the supervision of a board of directors. PSOD offers expense coverage for CPD.

PAC is actively seeking resumes from qualified and accredited dance teachers in various disciplines to add to our evolving needs for the 2015-2016 dance season.


The Ideal Candidate would possess:

-Certification in ISTD, Checetti or RAD and/or ADAPT and Acrobatic Arts

-2+ years’ experience teaching and choreographing

-Passion for teaching children

-Experience in teaching children of a variety of ages and dance levels

-High level of professionalism

-Excellent communication skills

-Ability to work as part of a teaching team

-Experience in preparing dancers for ADAPT and Acrobatic Arts exams

-Wage -  based on experience and training/education

-Hours – starting at 7.5 hours and eventually working up to 20 plus.
